Description

During the workshop you will paint a self portrait, taking an image of yourself with a camera. You can then sketching your image onto a primed canvas or board, approximately 40cm X 30cm.

You will explore the pure colours of the colour wheel and learn to mix and lighten them. You will learn to model and shape the planes and facets of your portrait to create volume.

The workshop isn’t necessarily about making a pretty picture, but about giving yourself the time and space to experiment with colour. Sitting them side by side, and discovering how they react with each other.

Creating form and depth between the components of your painting using colour and tone. Defining the foreground and background using colour and describing the light as it falls across the face.
