An introduction to watercolour techniques to create your own dynamic landscape paintings with friendly step by step instruction. Students will be introduced to essential techniques for creating a range of landscape effects, such as cloud filled skies, beautifully textured rocks, and sparkling reflections on water. Techniques include brush handling, wet in wet and wet on dry washes, lifting, masking, and resist methods. Students will learn how to mix colour to create lively and balanced artworks. All levels of experience are welcome.

Monoprinting is a direct and safe printmaking process that is exciting with unpredictable results.You will be encouraged to experiment with a variety of materials such as feathers, pressed flowers,leaves and objects found in nature. We will focus on colour, texture and embossing, easily done through printing with the etching press. Fine art quality papers will be used creating exciting results, and boosting your artistic skills or further development.Materials:There will be a $30 materials fee payable to Seraphina for printing paper, inks and other materials involved in the actual making of the prints.You might like to bring: a notebook or sketchbook and drawing materials.Start collecting any printable objects that you might find, such as leaves, and any ephemera that speaks to you.
