Relatively recently, watercolour gessos were introduced onto the market, opening up a whole new world. Watercolour is now no longer limited to paper!
In this workshop we will explore the potential and wonderful surprises that watercolour on canvas offers.
Working on canvas has similar qualities to traditional watercolour and some wonderful differences.
Please note: This workshop incurs an extra materials fee which is explained below. The materials fee is paid on the day, directly to Tara, in cash, or direct deposit. Please be aware we do not carry credit/eftpos card facilities.

Description
Together through creating the portrait of an animal, we will explore the tricks, techniques and flow, that I have learnt on my journey in experimenting with this medium. Watercolour has a mind of its own so there are no ‘wrongs’!
This workshop is for beginners to advanced. I will teach you how to prepare and seal your canvas, walk you through techniques and guide you in creating your own animal interpretation.
I especially love depicting animals, they lend themselves beautifully to the freedom and flow that is the natural voice of watercolour and encourage the expression of the unique creative self to come forth.
MATERIALS Very important, please read carefully. All materials, except brushes and pencils are provided.
Tara says, “I will prepare all the canvas’s ahead of time for you, as the gesso requires 48 hours to cure. I will do one in the workshop and give instruction on how it is done. The materials fee will depend on which type of canvas you would like. We will send you a full inventory of options when you enrol. The material fee will be between $62 and$79. Materials provided include canvas fully prepared, watercolours and palette. Please note: the watercolour provided will not be personal tubes, however you will be able to use as much as you need on the day. Please bring your own watercolour brushes, small, medium, large and extra large, as well as a 2B pencil.
